Support to National Strategic Development Plan (NSDP) Monitoring in Cambodia

The UN Development Assistance Framework for 2006-2010 (UNDAF) emphasizes the coordination and streamlining of inter-agency approaches to support national development. The UN Country Team in Cambodia has prepared this Joint Framework to support the Government's efforts to monitor the NSDP.

The framework will further strengthen and coordinate the activities of UN agencies in support of NSDP monitoring and coordinated UN engagement in sector-wide approaches, with particular emphasis on the creation of sustainable national and sectoral monitoring capacities. The framework presents a coordinated approach to the UNDAF, encapsulated in the National Plan effectively monitored with a focus on CMDG progress and the related output, "strengthened national capacity for quality data collection, management and monitoring of progress".

The activities of other donors are recognised as essential for the strengthening of national monitoring capacity, such as the ongoing and planned activities of SIDA and JICA.

The UN in Cambodia will seek to cooperate with these and other relevant donors and their activities to ensure effectiveness and avoid duplication.
