| Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development |
|
|
Ensuring that Official Development Assistance (ODA) resources are utilized in an effective and accountable manner to realise the CMDGs is of paramount importance. Under this goal, countries like Cambodia work towards improving trading and financial systems and making new technologies, such as information and communications technologies, available, with the cooperation of the private sector. The Royal Government of Cambodia is committed to further integrating Cambodia into the world economy by forming bilateral and multilateral trade agreements, as Cambodia's entrance to the WTO demonstrate. Trade is considered an "engine of growth" which has the potential to contribute to sustainable poverty reduction and other CMDGs. No formal objectives have been set for CMDG8 which makes it impossible to track progress in this area, although some of the indicators are tracked at the OECD level. This will be corrected in the course of preparing the 2010 CMDG report. |
