Press Release:New measurement unveiled to accelerate progress of the Cambodia Millennium Development GoalsPHNOM PENH, 6 December 2010: The Cambodian government unveiled a new measurement that will be used to speed up achievement of the Cambodia Millennium Development Goals (CMDGs). The CMDG Scorecards are designed to assist policy makers and development planners in identifying areas where CMDGs are lagging in progress, thereby requiring more efforts to improve towards MDG 2015 target date.

PHNOM PENH, 1 July 2010: Cambodia can foster greater growth by tapping into significant yet unexploited potential currently in its possession across its territory. But the country needs to have a more strategic approach to local development in order to take advantage of the potential and tackle the disparities still prominently present between its urban and rural areas, the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) said in a new report.

Cambodia opens first international mining conference: “Staking a Claim for Cambodia”

PHNOM PENH, 26 May 2010: Cambodia opened an international conference on mining today to discuss the country’s mineral resources sector and steps needed to “responsibly” develop it for the greater good of its citizens. The conference – “Staking a Claim for Cambodia” – is the first of its kind and brings together some 300 participants, including national and international experts, companies, development partners, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders. Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, opened the conference calling it a significant event.
