Phnom Penh - A forum on climate change in Cambodia ended on Wednesday with an unambiguous reminder:  act together or face disaster from the global warming.

Phnom Penh - A multi-donor trust fund on Tuesday awarded US$2 million to eight projects designed to help mitigate the threats of climate change to development and rural livelihoods in Cambodia.

PHNOM PENH – Cambodia opened the second conference on climate change on Monday, with officials from the government and UNDP stressing the need for coordinated efforts to tackle the impacts of climate change.

Phnom Penh – With support from the Norwegian Government Oil for Development Program, UNDP in Cambodia has for several years enjoyed a strong collaboration with the Royal Government of Cambodia on oil and gas matters.  Working together with the Cambodian National Petroleum Authority (CNPA) and other Cambodian agencies, UNDP aims to help strengthen Cambodia’s capacity to regulate and manage its emerging oil and gas sector for the benefit of the Cambodian people.

Nouv Nuan lost her crops in Kompong Thom province, in central Cambodia, after Typhoon Ketsana swept through in 2009. She remembers the storm that wiped out her family’s livelihood. “Our wet season farming got flooded. It was as if we were drowning in a deep well, and we couldn’t swim or climb up,” she recalled.
