Midwifery Forum: The first event for Cambodian midwives from 13-14 December 2005 can allow all midwives from rural areas to dialogues their concerns and raise their voice to the high-level of government officials
State of World Population Report (SWOP): The report is publicly launched on 12 October 2005 through the organized network and event with the theme of The Promise of Equality: Gender Equity, Reproductive Health and the Millennium Development Goals". The roundtable discussion is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Women's Affairs and aired on the National Television of Kampuchea and private one with participation from Ministry of Women's Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and civil society. Besides that the press release along with summary and report are sent out to selected media and relevant institutions including governmental, donor, UN, Embassies and NGO counterparts.
World Population Day (WPD): The theme for the 2005 WPD is Equality as it contributes to ending poverty. The event was joint-organized by NCPD and UNFPA aimed at raising awareness among public audiences by organizing traditional dancing and comedy publicly a day before and formal ceremony with participation from policy and decision makers presided over by HE Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister in charge of the Office of Council of Ministers.
Ms. Imelda Henkin, Former Deputy Director visited to Cambodia from 25 April-01 May 2005 and met with government counterparts and visited to UNFPA supported activities. She was invited for the key speaker during the 21st APDA meeting on disaster management.
The visit of Dr. Alfred Biolek, 17-24 January 2005 as part of his commitment to improving the situation of young people in developing countries, and to combating the spread of HIV/AIDS.
