The National Forum on Volunteerism and Cambodian Millenium Development Goals: Missing Link in Development will take place from 7-8 September 2011.
The Forum is hosted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport of Cambodia with the support of UNV and the network of local and international volunteer agencies in Cambodia - VolCam. The Forum is organized to mark the 10th anniversary of the International Year of Volunteers (IYV+10). The theme of the Forum is: Volunteerism and the Cambodian Millennium Development Goals: Missing Link in Development and it will look at ways to fully exploit the potential of volunteerism to accelerate the achievement of CMDGs.
The Forum will be the first of its kind to be held in Cambodia, bringing together government agencies, volunteer organizations, civil society, development organizations and corporate sector. Cambodian, international and community volunteers will also attend the Forum and share their experiences and insight.
The outcome of the event will be a Forum Statement with recommendations on the promotion of an enabling environment for volunteerism in Cambodia.
A special Volunteer Fair will start from 13:00 on September 8th 2011 and will be open to public. The Volunteer Fair will provide an avenue for forging partnerships and promoting volunteer opportunities.
